Des McDonald


Des McDonald has been with Caprice Holdings since 1993. In 1998 he was promoted to Managing Director, then in 1999 he successfully merged Signature Restaurants into the Group, which included such restaurants as Daphne's and Bam-Bou.

Following the purchase of the group by Richard Caring in 2005, Des was promoted to CEO. With Caprice Holdings' continued growth there followed the merger in 2007 of the Birley group. In January 2008 Des established a partnership with Tatweer to create a significant franchise business of strategic brands in the Middle East.

In 2009 Des co-ordinated an 80% purchase of the Soho House Group by Caprice Holdings.

As CEO of Caprice Holdings, Birley Group, Soho House and Urban Caprice, Des overseas the ongoing development of all parts of the group.
