Director of The Ivy
Fernando Peire is on the Board of Caprice Holdings and has been Director of The Ivy restaurant and The Club at The Ivy since 2007.
He led the opening of The Club at The Ivy in September 2008 and played a key role in the 2015 major refurbishment of the restaurant and private dining room. The five month closure and reopening of The Ivy were the subject of a one hour ITV documentary, The Ivy.
Fernando studied French and Law at Manchester University before devoting himself to a career in restaurants, joining The Ivy as Senior Maître d’ in 1990. After eight years, he departed and worked for several years as a restaurant consultant on projects as far afield as Barbados before opening the Frontline Club in London in 2004.
Fernando returned to The Ivy in 2007, shortly after Richard Caring bought Caprice Holdings.
Fernando was “The Restaurant Inspector” in Channel 5’s critically-acclaimed eponymous series, which ran for two seasons. To celebrate The Ivy’s centenary, he is currently writing The Ivy Now, a new book relating the history of The Ivy, with stories from its customers and staff and recipes by Gary Lee, to be published in June 2017 by Quadrille.
